Taking Part
Autotests

This is one of the cheapest and most enjoyable forms of motor sport, where you can use a perfectly standard road car, but where driving ability is vital. Cars compete alone against the clock. The driver must negotiate a set route between, through and around cones. The routes are marked on diagrams. Usually, some parts of the route must be tackled in reverse. The surface is smooth and TWMC events are run on grass, although some clubs run events on tarmac. Grass events are much kinder on tyres and transmissions. The entry is divided into classes according to each car's size and technical specification (front-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive, length of car and engine size). TWMC autotests attract a variety of different cars from trials specials, through small hatch-backs to family saloons. TWMC now have some club cars if you would rather not use your own.

The TWMC evening autotest series is a very low key series where having fun is first and foremost. The series is very popular with three evening events and a Sunday afternoon final. The final is followed by a barbecue, which can turn into one of the biggest social occasions of the year.
